Angry diff problems

this morning didnt start off too good i got up my friend call and he was going to stop over. i got dressed and went out to my truck, as i walk out to my truck i see oil leading up to my truck i followed the oil to my truck and under my rear diff there is a puddle i look at my cover and there is a hole in it. i pulled off the cover and something broke in there and was bouncing around. im still not sure when what caused this i had a tow truck pick it up and take it to a transmission shop to have it fixed i had them work on it on 1/5/05 and to day it is 4/4/05 it had a 3 month warranty on it. i have some pics of it. i have never seen anything like this before.

hey it sounds like a ring gear bolt backed out to me because if the cross shaft backed out it probly would have locked the rear up. oh by the way i'm from muskegon.

I get a call at work the other day to see a guy about a bullet hole in his muffler. I get there and he says he started his car this morning and it was very loud. He checked it and found a hole in it and wanted a police report. What happened was during the night there was a gunfight outside his house and a stray bullet skipped off the street and took out his muffler. Another stray took out his new siding on the house. Moral of the story is don't rule anything out with your diff hole.

Indeed, I was going to guess a ring gear bolt..... it's probably lying in the bottom of the diff right now.

Question: Where are the rest of your diff cover bolts?
