vibration and rear lock kick problem
vibration and rear lock kick problem
My 2004 F150 has 22K miles on it and something in driveline is nor right. I have started to feel a very slight rumbling vibration in the truck just for a second if i take off hard, no problem if I go slow. It also seems more prevalent when I am turning (clutches in the limited slip?). Also on occasion when I let up on gas and coast then step on it again there is a hard jolt, feels like somebody ran into my butt. I used to have a detroit locker in my older Bronko that gave me the same kick when it went from free to full lockup, is this the same type of problem or could it be the trans. Up till now the truck has been aces.
I was told in work by our maintenance guy that the shudder feeling and rumbling I was having on acceleration could be the traction control being out of wack. any ideas on this as a possible answer
It is a known problem with the 04's. You could try adding a tube of friction modifier and see if that will chill it out. If not then you will need to take it in and have the clutch packs replaced.
