SQUEEKs suck!!

ok i got rid of the clunking in the front of my truck. it was a loose shock that made a clickety clankety clunkety noise when it moved around.

but now i have a sqeek coming from either trans, driveline, or rear diferential. when my truck is under hard acceleration and it shifts to the next gear, it makes a hella loud squeek. it doesnt matter what gear, it does it in all under hard accel. it bugs the hell outa me and it is the last wierd noise left on my truck so far.

thanx in advance for any help or ideas as to what it is.

Are you sure it's not the tires chirping when you plant your foot!

There's about a hundred things that would cause a squeek, could be a body mount making noise as the frame moves under load. Also could be a bushing in the suspension somewhere. Hard to say without hearing it.

Try having a buddy ride with you and listen for the squeek as you drive. This may help you localize where it's coming from. Hate to say it but I think this is going to drive you nuts trying to find it. Those squeeks are tough to locate.

Lightbulb

Could be the serpentine belt slipping? UNless you're certain it's coming from the trans or driveline?,,,,98

i have no clue, however, it is only during hard acceleration when it shifts.

it has only done it like once twice in the last few weeks, so i am thinking maybe its going away.

Those conditions sounds like a belt slipping. Are you sure it's coming from the rear-end area?

If it only happens under hard acceleration while shifting, there's a 95% chance it's the belt. A Goodyear Gatorback belt will solve that in the time it takes to install it. Mine would squeel constantly anytime it was wet outside, as in ANY time it was running, and at ANY speed. It has done it a few times after startup, but goes away by the time you put it in gear. Awesome product!,,,,98
