I would suggest you go to your local auto part store and purchase a maintenance manual. I got mine for Hoss (97 F150 4x4 OffRoad) for $16. I have found it to be a valuable tool in my garage. They are pertty comprehensive and should be able to answer most basic questions. Go get one, I know it will help.

Good Luck!

Your owner's manual states the specified fluids and capacities. Those and the instructions can be searched here as well. Browse around and you can get some great tips. You can get copies of service manuals cheap on e-bay.

I flush my p/s fluid every 20k miles or 2 years.I changed my differential fluid at 82k miles. It still looked new and could have gone another 20k miles.
If you submerge your differential under water you need to change it ASAP! Milky oil and gears dont get along very well!
Oh,and I flush the brake fluid every 20k miles or every 2 years!

Power steering fluid does age and become dirty from wear; I change it in all my vehicles.

Even though synthetic rear end lube has extended drain intervals, it does degenerate and become dirty from wear.
