Greasing u-joints
I swapped my factory u-joints for AC Delco Super Strength greasable ones with fitting on one cap. I applied some more grease to each cap before installing. After driving, some grease had flipped out of the cups so I assume it was an adequate amount. I drove for approx. 30 - 40 miles before getting it into the shop to have them change the oil and grease the u-joints. Well, after I picked it up I found that they did not grease the u-joints so I went to the auto parts store and got my own gun with proper attachments. I greased them till grease started to escape from each cup's rubber seal, then did a little more.
Is this the proper method of greasing the u-joints? Think I damaged them any by driving before actually taking a grease gun to them? The gun came with a blackish "moly" grease for all general applications. I used this in the u-joints and in the whole front end by use of a needle fitting. Should I have used a different kind of grease? Thanks!!!

Perfect.
Now if I could only figure out why the damned truck is still in a bind in reverse. Hoping not the manual tranny or rear-end, but if it is, some 4:10's are in my future. Too bad you have to do the front too. Wonder how much that'll run me, and if I can do it myself...???
