Exclamation cooling system and brakes

TWO QUESTIONS

1) Well I am a newbie around here and I own a 1998 Ford F-150 4.6 V8 4X4. When I was coming home from Texas to Nebraska, I had my air condition on and then I started seeing like this mist or fog coming out of my vents in the cab. The smell was fom antifreeze. Now I have added a 'stop leak' additive to the coolant and the smell comes back like in a week or so. It smells more if I turn on my heater. Can anyone help me on what is the cause of this? Thanks I will appreciate any response.

2) I recently changed my brake disks and brake pads. Now when I press on the brakes while driving, I get this squeaking sound. Anyway to get rid of it? Thanks again.

1) Possible bad heater core.
2) Possible new brake pad composition.

Did you use any 'anti squeal' compound? This is the red or blue goop you put on the back of the pads to eliminate vibration - which you hear as squeak. If there is no vibration in the brake pedal (pulsing), you can disassemble your brakes and put it on, then re-assemble. That should take care of the squeak.

Also, make sure the sliders are properly lubricated. The brake caliper may hang if it binds up.
