I want to change my 3.55 gears to 4.10 on 2001 F150 Supercrew 4x4 with 33" tires and was wondering what you guys recommend. Four wheel parts has genuine gear with a lifetime warranty . any comments or brand recommendations. Thanks

 

Ford Motorsport gears are usually going to be quieter and easier to set up. I've had zero noise from mine.

 

I'll echo Mikeintx on the Ford gears. I did the 3.55 to 4.10 with the Ford Racing Performance Parts (FRPP) gears and was very impressed. Easy to set up and very quiet. If you have the 9.75 gears you might be out of luck though. I think they only offer them in 8.8".

 

I,ve used them all,as long as you set it up right you will have no noise.

When you guys say "easy to set up"... do you mean you installed them yourself? If so, whats the level of difficulty?

What they mean is that the Ford Racing gears are manufactured to the same specifications as the stock Ford ones.They require similar shimming and comply with factory noise standards.
