Unhappy shocks

Just installed new set of BF Goodrich Long Trail P265 70 16's, truck ran bumpy. I took it to Sears and had set of Monroe Sensa-Tracs installed. Ride quality is poor unless on smooth road. This truck seems to have a lot more height after going over a bump or dip in the rode. The stock shocks seemed to allow little movement. Does anybody know anything wrong with this particular shock? I chose it because I drive 100% on-road and was not concerned with adjustable off-road set-up.

I installed a set of the Monroe sensatrack coil-over load control shocks. I very happy with them. They are a little stiff but its kind of a trade off with the load control springs on them. They are great for towing and leveling out the truck when there is load in the bed.

I would not characterize the Monroe Sensa-track as being heavy enough for a truck. I installed a set on my wife's Explorer and I think they are too light for that application as well. The Screw is needing shocks and I think I'm going to save for a set of Bilstien's. If I were looking for an inexpensive set of shocks, I would look at ProComp ES3000 - the ride way better than anything that Rancho makes.

I'm not sure we are talking about the same Monroe Sensatrack shocks. The ones that I am talking about are the "Truck Load adjusting shocks" with the 1200 lb load leveling coil-over springs. Model: 58628

Having towed and hauled before and after intallation I would have to say they are plenty heavy enough, for me at least. But because of the load leveling springs they do ride a little stiff.

To each his own

It might be your tires. I have heard people here saying how much they disliked those tires.

I have also heard some Goodyears are very hard to keep balanced.
