98 f150 5.4 ltr supercab 4x4 85,000 km or 55,000 miles

used 4x4 low and had difficulty dis engaging -- had to disconnect transfercase motor several times.

able to disengage from 4 wheel hi now -- have not tried 4 w low again.

any ideas

 

I had a problem cause I did not know how to use my 4x4 button...It has no neutral on it...

If your truck has this type setup ?? I was told to place the transmission in neutral and put my foot on the brake...Then at a full stop , then I could move from 4L to 2H or 4H...Watch for the light on the dash to see what setting your in...Oh...You do the same thing to go into 4L as well...
