Anybody have any problems with their '04 driveshafts? I have a new supercrew and just had to have a driveshaft replaced. The truck was vibrating - slightly - and I thought I just needed to have the tires rebalanced - but Ford said they have been having problems with some of their driveshafts. Just wondering if anybody else is experiencing these vibrations and if they had their drive shaft replaced as well?

Ive noticed the slight vibration as well in my 04 Scab. Im kinda undecided as to whether or not to take it in.

Was the repair successful? Did it make a noticeable improvement? And lastly how long was your truck in for? It would be hard for me to do without my truck for an extended period. Then again as long as they provide the rental it should be fine.

I have mine in right now for a vibration that starts at 52 - 60 MPH. You can hear it and feel it through the steering wheel, the console and when you brake, you can really feel it through the pedal. The dealership service foreman has driven other new trucks and they have the exact symptoms as mine. It has been at the dealership for over a week now and they are replacing the driveshaft. I will post on the results of this swap out. It wouldnt suprise me if this fixes it.

 

Ok...so here is the deal. It looks like the driveshaft problem is a really big issue as they have had the truck for two weeks and the shaft is on backorder. I have to hand it to the dealership, Northpoint Team Ford in Atlanta. They have been very responsive and attentive. I have had an Expedition for almost 2 weeks now and they have just called me to see if I want my truck back so I dont have to drive the loaner. I prefer the F150 even with the vibe. They have given me 4 tanks of free gas for my truck. That is 200 dollars in cash folks!! I hope the shaft fixes the problem as it seems to from reading other posts.
