Loud & Squeeky Power steering

Hey all-

My steering squeeks very badly when the wheels are turned at a stop. It sounds like it's coming from the steering joint (whatever that part is called), where the steering shaft meets the two half-shafts. I have no loss in steering power. It's just very loud and more of an annoyance. Thanks for any input!

Sounds like you need to grease the pitman arm. Do a search and you should be able to find exactly how to do it. Basically there is a grease boot that gets dry and collapses which causes the noise. You need a needle type tip for a grease gun and some silicone sealant to do this repair. Only takes about 10 minutes. Basically just pump the boot full of grease using the needle on a grease gun, and then use the sealant to seal the hole from the needle. Hope this helps.
