Locked gearshift
"I have a 1996 F150 4x4 302 automatic transmission that will not go into gear. The ABS light blinks 16 times ( on the 16th time it stays on for an extra second and counts again to 16) and the book I have says to replace the KAM fuse. I cannot find this fuse in the wiring schematics. I did replace the ABS sensor/switch that goes on the front of the master cylinder, I had the ABS light blinking before I replaced this part. If I disconnect the negative battery cable and turn the ignition key on I am able to put the truck into nuetral reconnect the negative battery terminal and start the truck and put it into gear and drive it. As soon as I put the truck into Park the gearshift will not go back into gear even if the vehicle is still running. Proves to me that it is electrical. Can you help me!";

Thanks, Don
Check fuse number 13 it is a 15A fuse. It powers the kam for the rabs and also provides power to the stoplamp switch. If you do not have power through the stoplamp switch the shift interlock will not let you shift out of park. Also you can override the shift interlock if you turn the ignition key half way from off to run this will allow you to shift out of park without disconnecting the battery.
