Question COP System CHECK

2001 Super Crew 5.4L...
Hesitation (miss) caused engine light to come on (stays on)... Hand-held scanner said #1 cylinder misfire....
Q. Do I need to pull out the coil to check primary Resistance ???

Wrong area for this post, but yeah thats where I'd start. Check your plug for corrosion against the head and check for cracks in the plug insulator.

Being the #1 cyl. I would think that you should be able to check the resistance by simply unplugging the coil and checking it. That being said I would follow advice above and pull it and the plug. Moisture can be a problem and a crack in the plug can cause a misfire as well. Engine forum will get you better responses ( probably from a dozen people with the same problem)
