Power Steering

My steering gets stiffer the closer it gets to the end of its travel. It's slowly getting worse as I put more millage on the truck.

Is it a power steering problem or a rack and pinion problem?

My truck is a 97 4.6L SC XLT.

Thanks

You don't have a rack on a 97, that wasn't introduced on the F150 till the 04 model year. More than likely what it is is the joint on the pitman arm gets dry from Fords "greased for life" concept that doesn't really work. You'll need to get a needle attachment for a grease gun and inject some grease in the joint so it moves free again.
