I'm hearing a rattling noise...need help!

I have a 98 F-150 with a v-6. I keep hearing a noise everytime I push on the gas pedal. It sounds like a metal on metal rattle. It doesn't start right away. It starts a second or two after I accelerate. But then it stops after a second or two. I doesn't do it after I have accelerated to full speed. The truck is running fine. Is it just my imagination? Anyone have an idea what it could be? Thanks

Hi there! I can almost guarantee its a heat shield, or some other part of your exhaust. Get underneath your truck and wiggle all the exhaust parts (when its cool) Or try having someone put just a little pressure on the gas pedal while you're under there. Hope thats all it is! Cheers!

P.S. If its a heat shield....you can usually jerry rig some coat hanger or something to tighten it up.

That is about where the noise is coming from. I was worried that it might be the fly wheel or something else in the tranny. Thanks for the help
