Greasing Slip Yoke?????

o.k. i picked my can of teflon grease up from the Ford dealer yesterday. it was like $28 with taxes and all, but will be money well spent when the clunking rear end is stoped... by the way if anyone is trying to find teflon grease, i could only get it from ford..

its a pretty small can, but i was wondering how much grease should i put in the slip yoke, and is it neccesary to get the splines all the way down to the bottom of the yoke? do i need to grease a rag and shove it all the way to the bottom?

thanks for all responses..

Any EP rated grease will work fine. This is not a unique application for grease requiring the $28.00 teflon Ford stuff. I pull the yoke off the shaft then spread grease onto the splines of the yoke with my finger. Just cover the first 1 1/2" or so with the grease. You can put it on pretty thick because it will work it's way down the yoke filling the splines. Slide the yoke back on and it with work it's way onto the rest of the splines.
