Dumb diff Q?

Dumb diff Q?
i have an 88 150xlt lariat 4.9l with 2.73s in the rear and a 3spd auto. i keep reading about 7.5", 8", 9" 8.8" etc. what or how can i determine what i have?

This is your rear end size. There should be a metal tag on one of the bolts on the rear diff that tells you the ratio and size.
