Back flowing fuel

Hi folks!

I hope Im in the right spot for this but, On my 1992 f150 I noticed that when my front fuel tank is full and Im switched over and using my rear tank, the front tank starts to over flow out the fuel fill nozel . when Im useing just the front tank nothing happens It works normal (the front tank)
Could this be the switch over valve for the two tanks? if so haw big a job is it to change?

Thanks
Mark

Smark-
There is a TSB on this, the problem is due to defective check valves in the fuel lines. If I remember correctly it involved replacing the fuel lines.

Smark-
I just did a check on this & it's actually a safety recall #93S68. You need to have a dealer run a oasis on your Truck & see if it has ever been done. If not, Ford has to repair this free of charge.Good Luck!

completed work

The fuel problem is now fixed. You realy have to get a good service advisor that wants to help you look it up,I went to two dealerships before someone wated to help. The truck had not ben in for this problem at all.Tey also said that you have 15 years or 150,000 miles to fix the problem and it must be presant.

Thanks for the help!
