out of round??

I have a 97 f-150 4x4. While driving i can hear a out of round sound like a whoop, whoop sound while driving coming from the drivers side. It is like something stuck in the tire and makes a strange sound. Could this be bearings going out? Tires were checked and are fine. Please give me feed back please!!!!

The tire itself is probably making the noise, even though they say it checks out. It sounds like it has a flat spot.

To check if it's the bearing, jack up the front end and shake and turn the wheel/tire. If the bearing is bad, the wheel may feel loose. You can also spin the wheel. If there are any rough spots, then the bearing is probably damaged.

The thing about the 4x4 though is that the hub is a sealed unit, so they usually don't have problems. If it is a bearing, you'll need to replace the entire hub assembly.
