Limited Slip additive????

I just changed my diff cover and it was supposed to take 5 qt's to refill. Somewhere else I had heard that a 4oz bottle of limited slip additive would treat about 3 qt's. So, I bought two bottles (8 oz good for 6 qt's) and added it in but when I started refilling the diff it only took 4 qt's. Is this going to hurt anything???

I know I'm safe, just want to get a second opinion because I had heard the additive was just for noise in the clutch packs more so than lubrication.

run it and check it again.....the additive helps the linings wear longer...you'll be fine

Won't hurt a thing. Highly reccomended by myself.

Recently, I did a L/S enhancement on my 1994 Ranger. I added (2) 4 oz. bottles of Dana friction modifier (part# 43161) to the 8.8". Diff. performs beyond the expected.

In the past, I have had bad luck with "generic" friction modifiers. Use OEM or Dana for better results.
