Swaping 9.75

I need to replace the crown gear case, spider gears but not axle gears in my truck, along with new bearings and stuff, Just wondering if I could possibly go to a limited slip case, and still use my axle gears, crown gear and pinion? what is the difference in the design of a LS to an open diff?

The LS is just a new carrier. You can reuse your pinion and ring gears. All you do is swap everything over to the new carrier and you're set.

Thanx Powerstroke, the axle/spider gears will all fit in it out of mine? Does the LS come with a s clip or something?

With a limited slip you don't use your spider gears. All you will reuse will be the ring and pinion gears. It depends on the LS unit if you use C-clips or not. I think the factory uses C-clips to hold in the axle shafts like the open carriers do.
