when driveing my truck 97 f-150 4x4 offroad pkg. i'm getting a popping noise from under the front end when i turn corners or hit small bumps or railroad tracks. i also hear a faint chirping sound comeing from the front end also (dont know if this has anything to do with the popping noise or not). also when i put it in 4x4 mode and turn corners my tires are squilling more than usual. i have 90000 miles on it . any suggestions on what this might be.

More than likely your CV joints are going bad. Do a search and you'll find a lot more people with the same problem.

 

i had a popping noise under my '94 that turned out to be lose rivets in the frame rails!!!
