I was looking at an old 4Wheel and off road magazine last night that had the Expedition in it along with others for the 4x4 of the year test, I think it was from 97. They list the Expedition 5.4 as having the same axles as the at the time F250LD. A 9.75 up front and a 10.25 out back, was this a mistake or does the Expedition have larger axles than the F-150. The F-150 has an 8.8 up front and a 9.25 in the rear I think. This is with the 5.4 engine. The 4.6 has 8.8 at both ends right?

I think your right and the magazine is wrong. My Haynes shop manual shows no difference in axles for the 5.4L Expedition, F-150 and F-250LD.

The front axles on all F-150, F-250LD and Expeditions are 8.8s. The rears on F-150 with 4.2 & 4.6 are 8.8. The F-150 W/5.4 has a 9.75 and the F-250s have the 10.25. I am not sure of the Exp but I beleive it is the 9.75.
