Steering "Chunk"
Ok here's a little steering problem I've developed, wondering if anyone else has experienced this. When I have the wheel cut almost all the way, especially if I'm backing out of somewhere, I experience a "clunk" sound in the steering and I can subtly feel it in the wheel as well. This happens on both extremes of turning, and usually it happens when I'm just in the "middle" of my turn. I've only had it happen a couple times while in forward motion, but it happens every time in reverse. It is in 4x2 mode when this happens. I'm wondering if maybe this is a bearing problem, or if this sounds familiar to anyone.

My brother had the same problem with his '99 SuperDuty F-350 4x4. He took it back to the dealer and they found that the automatic locking hubs were bad and were in the locked position all the time. He had them replaced and all is well now.
I have a "knock" in my steering that I feel while driving and at braking at lights and brake release. I especially feel this when I drive over stone roads or construction entrances. I have a '97 F150 Lariat w/ 46k miles. I have taken it to two places who swear there is nothing wrong. I also have the vibration at braking (rotors?)....
