Totally Unrelated to trucks

My wife drives a 97 T-Bird that we bought new.
The headlamp housings, that were clear when new, are almost white from the sun cooking them.

Does anyone know of a Tech Serv Bulletin that Ford had in reference to replacing them??

Or does anyone have an idea how to clear and buff the plastic
headlamp housings??

Wet sand them with some 1500 grit sand paper, and then buff them with some rubbing compound. That worked wonders on my old 89 5.0 mustang.

usually these things go yellow with age, headlight heat and the elements.

Thumbs up

Take them out and have them buffed at a bodyshop. They'll look good as new if they're not too far gone. Back when I detailed cars, I'd hit the headlights and tail lights during the buff. You can even hand polish them if you have the elbow grease and time??,,,,98
