Question I know this isn't a truck but, help!!!

Hi, I know this isn't a truck but I have some questions. I own an Econoline 150 Van, and I was wondering if anyone would know of any mods I could do to it. I want to get dual cat-back exhaust, and possibly some new rims and tires. I don't know where to start. It has a 351 Windsor engine. It has a raised roof, running boards, wheelchair lift and my wheelchair is usualy in there too, so it is a quite heavy vehicle, does it need tires with high side walls or can it take some low profile tires? I'm thinking of getting some Harley Davidson F-150 wheels and tires, again are those tires and wheels capable on supporting all the weight mentioned above? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Well, anything that can be done performance wise to a 351 F150 can be done to your van, like ignition, chip, exhaust, so on and so on.

But as for the rims and tires I am guessing that since it has a 351 it is at least a 96 or older van. Which in that case Harlydavidson rims wont fit. The 96 and older half ton Ford truck line used a 5x5" lug pattern. The 97 and newer truck line including the HD uses a 5x135mm.

I wasn't going to reply to this post but I must say this. Harley, you're one of the most inconsiderate ****** I've seen in a while. How can you down someone elses property and go off on a immature spree about something that he didn't even say? You obviously have some social problems and should keep your mouth shut if your going to do nothing but totally defy what this message board is here for. Think before you open your big mouth. Just my $.02.

Econolines are trucks too! They are more of a truck than Harleys or SUV's.

I would say that if you have so much weight that you cant use low profile tires, you're in the wrong van. You should into an E-250.

On the bright side, there is a whole world of engine mods available for the 351. The first I would do is headers!!! Also consider a Superchip (available from our very own Mike T) and K&N Filtercharger. With the 351 you probably already have factory dual exhuast so upgrade to larger pipes.

If you are really daring, a bolt-on supercharger is the way to go!!!!

Nobody would get in the way of a blown Econoline!!!!

FORD154.....

What ever you want to do to your Econoline is up to you! Don't let some A$$ on this website deture you from that!

Harley....

That was rude as hell!! Didn't you read him when he said his wheelchair is usually in the van?? Maybe if he could modify an F-150 to accomidate his wheelchair, maybe he would have a Harley truck!! Think before you open your damn mouth!!

ALL.......

Is it me or does the rudest people on this site tend to be Harley owners!!!( Not all Harley owners ) But when you read a post and someone has something negative to say, read his Signature, or look at his profile, chances are he owns a Harley!!

Why cant we all be supportive of each other!! If you like it, go for it!!!

Try WWW.Wheelsmarket.com , the may have a 5.5 bolt patern!!

Derek,

I gotta agree with you. I talk a bit of smack now and then but usually it's entirely tongue in cheek.

I've been dead set against Harley "trucks" since day one, considering how horribly unreliable and underperforming said Harley Davidsons are in comparison to F150s.

It's all about the "image" of being a badass in, or on, a Harley...despite the fact that said person is usually a fat, bald old geezer or some young punk thinking he's the shiznit.

I've got a sure cureall for it, let 'em see my 550 Lariat prepped by Fontaine. All mouths shut after that.

Note, this is a generalization and may not apply to all HD Edition F150 owners. I'm sure there are exceptions.

Angry So wrong

I definately have to add my vote to that growing count. I am a 25 year old 2000 Harley truck owner...count me as an exception. I could not believe the crap comin' from Harley356, I'm surprised he's got teeth left behaving like that.
Several of the lightnings in my area have the harley rim on their trucks. Doesn't bother me at all. I think the wheel is awesome looking, part of what attracted me to the truck, if it enhances the look of another Ford that's great.
Like F150Freak said before, the wheels won't fit, but if they could I'd put em on just to **** Harley#356 off. Maybe one of the replicas out there would work? I saw some 18's I was thinking about using for the winter months. Maybe someone out there makes a similar looking wheel that has your fitment in mind.

On a side note, I've had a Harley FatBoy (hey it matches me!) that was handed down to me via my Dad, and I've never had problems with...but that's besides the point.

Ford154, you've probably got the most sensible vehicle out of all of us, and I wish you luck on finding the right parts to get your van up to your expectations. I would second the vote on the chip from Mike T!!! I haven't ordered mine yet, but I will!!! All the other suggestions posted thus far are good ways to go.

Like Whiplash_F150, I wasn't going to sit here and read Harley356's post without saying something myself. Sorry to drag it out.

Good luck again!!!
