1992 Ford F150

I have a 1992 Ford F150 300 6 Engine.
It is missing now and then when I plugged in the my scanner and ran the test on it it came up with a red light under Emission and said cyl : 6 01/04
Cylinder number 6
EEC-IV Cyl
Can anyone tell me what that means?
Does it mean that cylinder 6 is miss firing?
I put a spark plug wire test on and tested all the wires it was lighting up on all of them.
The only thing that I have not done yet is run a timing test/check on it.

Have you pulled the #6 spark plug and looked at it?

I will pull it out and see I might just get a new one. I just changed the spark plugs and wires and cap and rotor 2 weeks ago on it but maybe there is one bad plug on 6. I will let you know what I find out.

The plug, wire, or cap could possibly be defective. It happens. You could possibly have a bad fuel injector. Compression test wouldn't hurt.

What brand plugs, wires, rotor, and cap did you use?

It means scanners are virtually useless on EEC-IVs. Return it for refund ASAP, and read these captions:
