Oil Change Question

is it normal for a dealer to change the oil in a brand new vehicle when it comes off the truck? was told that all dealers do it because of metal flakes in the oil.

That is a new one. Never heard that before. Always heard the break in oil needed to stay there for the cycle.

I think I would. I remember when I bought my 2005, I wanted the oil changed at 1600 miles at my expense and the dealer advised me that the factory oil need to go at least 3000. May have been hooey, but I did and at 135,000, it still just barely moved on the stick between oil changes at 4000 miles. I just can't figure a dealer would go to that unnecessary expense.

i was thinking the exact same thing. i even asked were they going to use ONLY Motorcraft oil and filter and his reply was "absolutely". i'll shoot him an email and see if it has been done already. oh, this is on a 2012 Mustang 5.0 that i special ordered, don't think that it would make a difference though

alright, NO oil change, just take it out of transport mode, top off the fluids, remove plastic and final detail.
