Talking Wife's new ride and it's finally a Ford!

Picked up this very slightly used Tuxedo Black Escape XLS for my wife. I felt we got a really good deal with only 1,000 miles for a 2011. Got a good offer on her trade too, it's the base model but can't beat a new ride for near $200/month. Shes really pleased with is so far. Sure beats trying to get our daughter out of the back seat of a 2dr Pontiac, it was almost physically impossible for me. So here it is its pretty dirty.

Congratz man. I'm currently looking for an escape for the wife.

200 per month!!! You can't beat that with a stick!

Let me know how you guys like it and is there enough room for kids and cargo?

Thanks
nate

I'm 5'11" ish and its still a little awkward getting my daughter out of her car seat in the middle but I may just be used to my truck tho. She loves it so far and currently getting 23mpg on the gauge cluster. My only complaint is the 4cyl (power) and the trans seems to have an intermittent hard up and down shift, and a vibrating/rattle at idle.

True, but when you both work and have an 11 month old its hard to find time to be down a vehicle. But yes it will be getting looked at soon just need to find a dealer thats actually going to give me an answer instead of "Oh yeah thats normal".

I'm 6'3 and the Escape we have, I feel extremely boxed in, my knees his the dash board which is very annoying.

But you did get a good deal, $200/month I would have just bought the wife that instead of her Mazda 3!

I don't feel too crammed in there, but I do have the seat all the way back. She got a good deal on the Escape + a awesome deal on her trade in. Too bad it was at a Kia dealership or I would go back for my next vehicle.

Well the A/C condenser went out today...on our 3 hour trip home from Corpus with my wife and 1 year old. Of all the days it could of went out and it had to be when were that far away from home. I guess it could of been worse it was only 102* today, could of been 110*+. Hope this isn't a sign of things to come, it's at 7,000k miles right now sitting at the dealer.

Picked it up yesterday, apparently there was just a leak in the condenser.

Now I need to convince her she needs to do this , just a rough photoshop.

Keep us updated. My wife and I have decided we are going to get a newer escape or a bit older 4runner... I freaking hate the new toyota's!! It's a tough decision because they are two totally different suv's but that is what she wants and I want the best bang for my buck!

I'm thinking that we will travel 5.5hours to the folks house's and then back home... another 5.5hr once a month.

We need something big enough for two adults and a three year old with all of our crap in it. I need it to get decent fuel economy and above all, it needs to be reliable!

P.S. I like the photo shop idea

It's basically the sport package, still don't know if PTM or flat would look best.
