2009 Ford Fusion

My wife has a 09 Fusion and when you are sitting still and the car is running and then you start to move the motor will make a weird sound. We took it to the dealer while it was under warranty and they said the belt was loose and they fixed it.... Didn't know you could tighten a belt... But hey I don't know much about these cars.

I do know it's not normal for it to make this noise because my sister in law has the same car with the same motor and hers doesn't do it.

When we did get it back from the dealer it didn't make the noise for about two weeks. Long enough for it to go out of warranty. I went and talked to the dealer and they wont fix it unless I paid. BS! I let em know what I thought about their shady company.

But anyways... Any help would rock! It drives the wife nuts. I hear about it every day. Could it be the belt and just needs to be replaced? I cant even see the belt in this car because the motor is crammed into the car.

im far from an expert, but maybe it has to do with the belt tensioner. the bolt could be coming loose.

Don't worry about being out of warranty...you took it in prior to warranty expiration with a issue . the issue isn't resolved. Take it back and explain that it worked for only a short time and clearly the problem is back. but you need to do this fairly quickly, time is not on your side.

most dealerships will work with you, ask to speak with the manager.

Hell our dealership just covered a guy's transmission on his 05 RR because he whined enough about it, and he's been out of warranty for almost 2 years now
