Wink Front shocks on NASCAR

My NASCAR edition turned 5,300 miles a few weeks back so I rotated the tires. When I did I noticed the rubber bushings on both shocks were busted all to pieces. They had been tightened down to a pancake waffer and had split into tiny pieces of rubber that had started slipping out of the washers holding them. My Ford dealer replaced them yesterday. If any of you have a problem like this or need to replace the front shocks, the shocks listed in the book(computer)do not come with the rubber buhings for the top. That is a separate order item that comes with the rubber bushing glued to the washer that is attached to the nut.
You can feel the difference in the ride and handeling. The old ones were rattling around in the bracket.

Did you mean 53,000 miles or just 5300 miles. Man that is low mileage. I thought I was really low at 12,000.

You read it right, 5,300 miles. Hardly broke in. I got it from a collector who wanted to collect my 95 Vette more than his 98 NASCAR F150 so we swapped. My Vette now resides in his warehouse with several cars including a Shelby GT 500 and 76 Turbo Trans Am with only 19 miles on it. But I'm happy with my truck. It draws almost as much attention as my Competition Yellow Corvette did and I don't have to baby it near as much.

Nascar4.6, I used to live on 1960 at Hardy when it was a 2 lane road in the country, before Greenspoint was built. Now live in Huffman, east side of lake Houston trying to get away from the crowd, but that area in growing now.

Omega 5, just sold a 52 Ford pick-up with 5.0 engine, auto trans, ac. Outside was stock. Have a 77 Corvette in the garage with 56K miles on it that my wife bought in 83. Also have a Dodge Omni-turbo that is wasting away in a barn out back. Too many toys, not enought time. But nothing like what the guy you traded with had. Does he have appraisals on his collection? Wonder what they are worth?

Johnny, I never asked him if they were appraised or not. I was in AWE, MOTORHEAD HEAVEN just looking at his cars. He used to race, back before it was NASCAR and just loves cars. His kids all own Ford or Subaru dealerships and have inherited his love for cars too. Tried to get him to adopt me but it was a no go.
