The transmission in my wifes 2008 Expy EL has developed a "whine" when you accelerate from a stop and as it goes through the gears. It's got the 6 speed trans in it, I'm assuming similar to the 6 speed in the '09 F150.

The Expy has about 36.5K miles on it. I know my '05 F150 called for a trans flush at 30K miles, but the Expy manual only calls for a check of the fluid levels every so often and no mention of flush or changing trans fluid.

Anyone ideas?

 

I'd take it in. I know that the 07s have a TSB for the trans to be pulled and new clutches installed on the 3rd gear cogs. Yes it is similar to the 09 F-150 but not the same. If it's wining I'd expect it could be a pump going out in it.
