While at my local Ford dealer today getting an alignment I got to talking with a decent salesman. I told him I was in for service not shopping. I was looking at a new Focus in the showroom. I got in the drivers seat and WOW! PLENTY of room for a 6 foot tall big guy like me and EXTREMELY comfy seats. He said recently one of his customers had a head on with a pickup truck in his new Focus. Truck doing 70, he was doing 40. The Focus driver walked away uninjured.

He said they can be had with all of the options...leather, SYNC, power and whatever else for about $23K. 27MPG city/near 40MPG highway. I may have found my wifes next car.

 

If only they didn't have such horrendous new car depreciation.

I got killed on depreciation when I bought my '03 Focus and traded it on an '04 F150. It was sickening how much value that car lost in one year and 21K miles.

They are nice cars. Just do yourself a favor and buy used.

 

My girlfriend has the 08 Focus Coupe which I like way more than the sedan. SYNC is awesome by the way.
