Got an 03 Exploder Sport. The thing has 70,000 miles on it. It has numerous things done to it since we have owned it(new). Almost everything has been replaced twice under warranty cause its a typical complete piece of crap.


Anyway, the thing rides like a damn 70's Cadillac, every bump you hit the thing rocks and rock and rocks and thuds and whatever. Complete suspension is worn, I cant take a corner for junk. I can take a corner in my 98 Expedition with 170k on it with STOCK suspension 3 times as fast as I can in this damn Exploder. The things junk, the rear sqauts all to hell also.

What kind of aftermarket is out there for these 'trucks'? I need to make it peppier also, maybe CAI or exhaust? Who makes em for the 4.0?

 

explorers have always been like that. there left over pieces from other projects that some engineer figured hmm what could i build with this, at least on the old ones i mean the old ones came with like 4 randomly chosen transfer cases, racing type heads with backwards manifolds. If your looking for performance check out ebay there should be alot of mods for the 4.0 uz people swap them into bronco 2s and rangers

 

the new explorers with the mustang 4.6 are so much better. they get better mpg. they are peppy as hell. and they handle like a dream. the 4.0 was a dog in just about everything they were put in.
