What a truck.............

While at my local dealer, I checked out a new 2008 fully loaded special ordered F450 Super Crew Lariat. WOW.....What a truck!

It had GPS navigation, satellite/Audiophile Sirius Radio and a fold-out step in the tailgate, chrome wheels and many more accessories.

I could never afford the $57,000 sticker price but man this was a beautiful truck.

Yeah, those F450's are sweet! I had one stop next to me at a red light the other day, made my F150 look like a Tonka toy! The sound of that Powerstroke as he pulled away, ohhhh baby!

That has to be the first ever F-450 I have ever seen that had a regular pick-up bed on it. All I have seen are ordered without the bed and are outfitted after the purchase with tool boxes, rails, or whatever the customer wants or has. We have a local delivery service in the area called Dine-in, they go to the resturant of your choice and bring your order to you. One driver has an F450 PS but it has only a flat bed. He said it got as good of mpg as his beater 4-cyl but had 4WD for the winter time. BTW, his beater 4-cyl got poor mileage. He drove it except at times when diesel was more costly than gas around here.

Infire, the 08's are the first year you could get an F450 with a regular bed on it. All prior years came as cab and chassis only like you said. It is one sweet monster truck. You should see the rear axle on it...I think its a Dana 110 with a 13 inch ring gear or something!

Sweet!! With a rear end that size you should be able to get some wickedly favorable gear ratios for massive hauling and towing.

Since getting my 03, I havent done any research on Ford's year-by-year releases so I am out of the loop.

I must be doing something wrong but going to Ford's website and trying to build an F450, it only give me the dual rear wheel option yet the pictures show a standard single wheel per side setup. Is Ford planning to release a 4-tire version of the F450 or only with the dually option?

Nope the 450 is available as a dually only. Guess thats the only way they can rate it to carry 6100 pounds in the bed!

Too bad, wont fit in my garage then. But would be cool anyway to have it and with that PS engine tuned out to the max driving a 6-sp stick shift. Oh yeah!!
