ok, so im new to the forum and need a bit of help. First off, i hope this is in the correct folder. If not, please mod take care of it.

I have been a yota boy for most of my life, but at this time in my life dont have the money for another yota. A friend of mine has a 97 ext cab lariat F150 4X4. Recently, he replaced all the cloth, put in 2 new racing seats, K&N intake, tool box, nerf bars, and a head unit. Stock everything else.

The bad part is that the rig has 160K on it. Long story short the motor was replaced about 50k ago because the owner had a blonde moment when changing the oil and drove off w/ no oil in it! LOL. Anyways, its a new motor w/ original trans and everything else. It also has a pretty large dent on the drivers rear of the bed.

He was asking 6K. I figured i would go to his house with 5K in cash and i would drive the truck home. Judging on the situation and the specs, can ya'll tell me what you think about those price figures?

should i be scared of an original trans w/ 160k on it?

 

That's way too much money, man. No way I'd pay more than 4k for that truck. Hell mine's only worth 10...

It doesn't sound like it has been taken care of very well. You can probably find something better....

 

I'm sure you could find a better deal than that. Keep looking.
