Well from what I have read in a magazine, the FX2 is Fords Gay way of replacing the Lightning, while it will not be put into production with a more powerful engine the article suggests that you can go to local Ford dealer and order upgraded engine, tranny, and suspension parts making the FX2 a Lightning

Not quite. There are alot of us that don't want a lightning, but want a 2WD truck to do light duty (like carry my dirt bikes) and be comfortable for driving daily. The FX2 is perfectly suited for guys like me. Besides, I can easily put a Magnusson or a Whipple on it and have a sleeper that will stay with and probably smoke a lightning for 2-3G's less. The stock blowers Ford uses aren't that hot anyway. My 03 Cobra had way more ***** when I switched out the stock blower for a Kenny Bell. I gained almost 75 hp over the stock config, just with the blower change.
I really like the interior of the truck. It is very comfortable and drives like a car. I didn't need or want a 4x4, so the FX2 is just what I wanted and I do not care for the Silverado, The FX2 looks way better to me.
And just for the record, I am not gay, not that there is anything wrong with those who are gay
