2001 Mazda Tribute keeps going!! HELP!!
Well the subject says it all. My friends bought his tribue over and as a lack of maintance he does i quickly pull his intake hose and cleaned his tb. After that, as the hose was disconnected I cleaned the MAF and IAT with some CRC electr. contact cleaner. I topped off fluids and he was on his way. He called a little bit later and said the when he was driving and he would let his foot off the gas the car would keep going not wanting to slow down! He braked and it went back to idle. So now after the cleaning when (in park or in drive or reverse) you step on the gas and let go it takes several (like 5-7) seconds to return back to idle. SO I was wondering did I screw it up by cleaning the MAF because I have done it to several car and all of them had no problems. By the way there is no CEL. My first guess it is IAC is dirty or clogged. What do yall think? Please HELP!
Also I am going to change his tranny fluid and after finding out that you cant change the filter I am going to change just the fluid. And the manuel is gone so I looked on the internet and it says that it only takes 4 qts.
Is that right????
