How Much Should I Sell For
How Much Should I Sell For
hey everyone im looking at buying a 06 f-150 so im trying to figure out how much to sell mine for. Its a 2000. 5.4 auto with 90k. it has the 3.55 ls towing package. many extras like grill gaurd, true dual exhaust with H balance pipe, volant intake, superchips tuner, white face gauges, after market cd player, newer bf goodrich 285/75-16 tires with american racing wheels, brand new sensatracs all around. always run with synthetic mobile 1. have done tb cleaning injector cleaning runs perfect very fast. what do you guys think is a good asking price? like highest and lowest? i kno about kelly blue book but ya thats for like stock vehicals and this aint stock ha. just wanted to know what you guys think.
those extras usually do not have any significant impact on resale.
Why?
Its like a house with a pool. You actually shrink the number of potential buyers... thereby making it a buyers market... so you get less for your truck.
Besdies, you really dont have that much in the way of add-ons. Grill gaurd, an exhaust, an intake. Its not like there is a supercharger or anything like that.

With how Ford has been pricing the last year or two, there may be a LOT of
'05 and '06 model F150's that were sold for less than they otherwise should have sold for.
I see new trucks advertised at lower prices (or not so much more) than what I see late model used trucks listed for in Auto Trader, etc.
Eventually this could depress the prices in the used truck market, almost making it a "buyers" market, since there are so many F150's out there because they are so popular and they made/make so many of them.
$10-$12K off MSRP, and lots below "invoice" is nice when you want to buy a new truck, but it doesn't do much to "support" the resale prices of late model used trucks. I bet that many owners might have difficulty selling their truck for what they owe on it right now.
With gas prices causing sales to lag, I am not convinced that the Ford factory incentives are all done with as of 07/05.
All this considered, I am seriously thinking about waiting until after the '07's come out, then looking for a bargain in a nice low mileage '04 or an '05 with cash in hand...
I may be wrong, this is just one simple man's humble opinion...
