Newbie here, me to this board, and my late '97, almost '98 to being a 1997. Mine must be one of them '97 1/2's (like the '64 1/2 Galaxie, and the '68 1/2 Shelby) cuz it wasn't built until 05/97.

201,000 miles so far, which is absolutely incredible to me since I tow an equipment trailer (sometimes a big one with a tamdem axle) most of the time.

Doesn't clatter yet, but it DOES smoke me out first start in the AM . Too late for this one, but what do youse guys think about those "pre-lube" dealys (can't spell resovwar???) that pump up the lubrication system when you first turn on the key???

Talk about brand loyalty, GM's and Dodges don't even interest me. Wouldn't have anything BUT a Ford until THEY change my mind with an inferior product. A friend of mine has a new Dodge Hemi and especially for the money he paid for it, it doesn't impress me at all...

I am SERIOUSLY lookin' at '06 F150 Crew Cab 5.4 (or maybe S/Cab) - but trying to figure if '07 will have any changes that make me want to wait. I know the C/C is bigger, but I travel a lot, can use the back seat to keep clothes etc. dry. Also have a Beagle pup that is our bestest friend and a constant companion, so he needs some space too. He goes to work with us, patiently waits in the truck while we do our work, even travels with us...

I drove a F250 with a diesel and was impressed, but still like the gas motors, but when they solve a few more issues with diesel (clatter, smoke, noise) I may try one...

When I do get my new pickemup truck, how long should I wait after delivery before I give Mike Troyer a shout? Maybe he'll make one of those "group offers".

LOVE this site so far!

ps. I SURE WISH that Chip Foose at "Overhaulin' would do an episode on a late model Ford pickup!!!!!!!!!! If he ever has - I missed it.

Chip - if you ever read this post I would be PROUD to volunteer mine, I'll even go along with the "gag", and since I live in Atlanta, I'll even pay the shipping!
