steering problems

I know this is the wrong forum but I need some help. Has anyone had or know of anyone who has had steering problems out of the 99 f-150's. I have been to see about 4 or 5 different folks and they are telling me everything from buy a steering stabilizer to replace the rear leaf springs to buy a new gear box. I am just really at a loss for what to do. Any help would be great. Thanks

What kind of "steering problems"? That is a VERY vague description of the problem.

Return to center

I apologize for the vague description. My truck will not return to center after a turn to start with. Then when going down the road it pulls to the left even though 2 alignment shops have said its perfect. Also there is no play in the wheel, it is a constant battle from right to left there is no centering it and holding it. Hopefully that takes some of the vagueness away. Thanks for taking the time to try and help.

Well, the returning to center problem is not going to be fixed with a steering stabilizer, if anything that will make it worse. So the truck seems to want to wander and wieve with you even if the steering wheel is held strait and you are constanly correcting? That sounds like a toe problem....but you said you got it aligned. Wow, I don't know man, the only thing I can think of that you could try, if possible, get a set of stock wheels and tires (good tires) and drive it and make sure it isn't that that is causing it.

I know that its a 99 and I know that its the wrong forum. But since 99's only fits in the "other" forum I was hoping to get some insight from some other owners, which I believe I stated in my opening apology for being in the wrong forum. As far as rotating they get rotated and balanced every 2000 miles, and have been done 3 times since the problems began.
