My new 98' F150 4x4..

Hello all... Im new to this site and I just bought a 1998 Ford F150 4x4 extended cab step side truck. It has the 5.4L V8, tinted windows, rhino lined bed, reece hitch, with a 3" body lift.. This truck is a factory dark blue color and I was wondering how many they made in 1998 with this color blue as I havnt seen another one that is this color? Anyone know of a website where there is some info. on statistics on this kind of stuff? And is there any good info. or anything that I should be aware of on these trucks? Recalls etc? Thanks in advance.

I think the name of that shade is "deep wedgewood blue"

And blue is one of the lesser selling colors. I think the top sellers are black, white and red.

Hey, I just looked up that color and came up with this "deep wegewood blue" f150.. http://fordtruckworld.tenmagazines.c...ry.ten?id=8277
My truck is definitely not that dark of a blue..

Heres a pic of my truck:
(By the way, did I mention that I needed some front end parts?) hehe... Its been hit, but both fenders are perfect still, but I need a front bumper, grille, along with all of the coolers (radiator, oil, etc..). I also need the oil filter bracket with hoses... Anyone out there have this stuff, let me know!

Oooh, nice truck! Now that I think of it, I haven't seen too many trucks that are your color. Sometimes I see sonic blue F150s (non-Lightnings) but that is like a rareity..and sometimes I wonder, is that factory paint? cause you don't see them very often. Yours looks too dark to be sonic blue..but then again the lighting in the pic matters too.

Sonio blue L:

you're right. Now that I think about it, I don't think the wedgewood was available until 99

Sorry about that.

No its definitely the same color as that lightning pic above.. It must be "sonic blue" then. It is the factory color of this F150 too. But I just wish I knew how many of these they produced in this color because it is definitely rare and you dont see them running around like this ya know? Maybe the guy who bought it new ordered it like this? Who knows. =) Thanks for the info. and Ill post more pics of this truck in a few days.

Another rare color on F150s I've seen is that lilac purple (center w/ bed cap):

Pretty, yet so rare! Just like the sonic blue non-L F150s.

I'm not big on that Lilac shade. Must be that not too many others like it either with so few being sold.

I went and bought the paint for this 98' F150 so I can spray the new hood, grille and bumper cover that I am installing. The paint code is "KM" and according to the computer at the paint shop, it came up as a "Royal Blue Met" (ROYAL BLUE METALLIC) under 1998 Ford.. Wonder if "Sonic Blue" is just another name for this same color paint....or maybe that sonic blue is all together a slightly diff. color? ... Who knows... Anyway, Ill definitely post some pics up soon of this truck when I get it done and all cleaned up. =)

And yea, I dont think I ever saw a lilac purple F like that..

Well I got my truck for the most part done now.. I need to install the front bumper strip that fits in between the bumper & grille, but that wont get done for a couple days probably.. Anyway, heres some pics of it and my new boat that I bought:

Im still looking for an inexpensive aftermarket breather system.. With a K&N filter would be nice, but I know K&N + inexpensive dont go together.. hehe

Howdy, my 97 order guide has "Moonlight Blue Metallic" that looks like it. I'll try to get a color scan for ya.

Yea I found out that there is multiple names for this color. The paint code is "KM". I have seen in the books over the past week or so that it is called:

-Royal Blue Metallic
-Midnight Blue Metallic

Its called "Moonlight Blue metallic" too?
