Successor to the Lightning
Having gone from a Mustang to an F150, this is the perfect vehicle for me. My only hope is that they put a bench seat in the back, so I can fit all 3 of my kids in it. I will definately be trading in my F150 for this when it comes out.
SVT has recently increased from 120 to 200 employees. They have stated that there are going to be 5 SVT vehicles.
After the Mustang and Explorer... what does this leave? Fusion probably. 500 probably not. Excursion getting killed. There is already a Shelby version of the Expedition... this really leaves me to believe there will be another Lightning. Maybe another SVT Focus.
Let's just see if the next Lightning is a Supercab or not.
I just don't see SVT versions of Econoline or Crown Vic (they tried the Marauder and failed)

A SVT Focus has got to be in the works. The sport compact market is huge and the US companies have got to put out a quality compact that can be modded for the ricer crowd. The Focus is a great base but needs some factory oomph & aftermarket support.
No way the next Lightning will be a supercab. Roush toyed with the idea with the last-gen Lightning, but it never made it to market. D'oh!

Not to mention a Supercab L would be defeating the purpose of a "sport truck". I dont look at a Supercab and say, "man, I bet that thing is fast". I look at it and say, "I bet that thing is roomy".

Depends on how many SRT-10's are reg cab vs quad cab.
Look at all the Harley guys that wanted an L but still needed a backseat. There is the potential to sell more crewcab lightnings than reg cab (with the appropriate sticker thereby making more money)

I understand and can respect that.
But in my eyes the Harley is a "tough guy cruiser". The lightning is the street rod tough guy truck. Street rod trucks shouldnty have a "backseat".
But then again...this is my OPINION.

I don't disagree. It's just a different team calling the shots vs when the L was developed.
:-/ It kind of looks like a Sport Trac. Would take some getting used to, for me. Maybe if it wasn't in red.
IMO the L's should stay reg cab or even advance to supercab...but leave the supercrew out. The extra weight might inhibit winning times through the finish line

unless that April Fool's gag about a blown V10 is actually true... and Ford was just testing the waters with an email hoax.
