twin beam axle

when did ford switch from the original solid forged radius rod on the twin i beam to the stamped radius arm,and why?? anyone know?

Not for sure when the switch occured; however, I am sure it was a substancial cost savings and weight reduction that made the decision possible.

Mid 96 on the 150, don't know about the 250 and 350 though, but probably on the new super duty body style
