Yeah the Kenwood wasnt bad i just had a better and more expensive stereo. As far as door and back speakers go in my opinion the alpine type r's are the best. I have them all around with a mtx thunderfrom with to mtx 10's with a 400watt amp pushing them Sounds great

you can see it in my profile below

Steven, Tell me more about the electronics. What speakers did you put in the front and rear, model numbers and sizes? Are they new or were they also out of your old truck? Where is the amp? Where did you buy the box, online/local?

I'm trying to figure out what to put in my truck. I'm also not that up to date with speakers.

Ok the door and rear speakers are 5x7 Alpine type R's best sounding imo. For the subs I have two 10inch MTX6000's in a mtx thunderfrom box fit to size for Ford truck allows your console to be able to go up and down, can be found a circuit city. the amp is also a mtx and its located under my driver seat. I will try to get pics of the amp but i do have a pic of the subs and box. the box you have to order to match your interior color. Mine was tan to match my old truck just got a spray paint can painted it to match my new interior, turned out pretty good.

so is this wiring diagram exclusive to the STX? Or does it also apply to other F150's using the same radio?

Re: STX Radio wire diagram

Is this so you can just buy a standard F*rd radio adapter to fit many stereos?

I ask this because if not, wouldn't you need to know specifically what each wire went to? (speakers, power, memory, dimming lead, etc).

I like the Kenwood in there, but I really want a newer unit, and put the Kenwood in my Nova probably. Since I drive this the most, the track->track seek times are bothering me in MP3 mode.

But I'm waiting for a Kenwood to come out that is sufficiently better for me to actually do it. Until then I'm just gonna replace all the stock speakers and put in an amp and a sub under the rear right seat.

this seems like a strange question, but it has me puzzled. which one of the wires on the STX harness is the "remote" wire for an amp? in my harness, there is no blue. by looking at the manual for the CD player, the black w/ green striped wire is in place of the blue. that didnt work someone help!

The first row where it says adapter/radio is the colors to most radios wires and adapters. In the radio manual it will tell what each color wire is
