03 STX's last with 5.4???
I was reading over in the 04 F150 section and somebody said the new 04 STX's would all have 4.6. If that's the case I'm very glad I opted for the 03 and didn't hold out for the 04. I love the current body style and with the front clip and upgraded headlights our trucks have make it the best looking truck on the road....well next to a lighting

Also wanted to add that those of us that got the 5.4 in our STX might have a jewel considering not many were made in 03 with the 5.4.
It would be interesting to know how many 100 or 1000 got the 5.4 in the STX model for the 2003 model year.
Anybody know where we could find this info??
Thanks,
Adam

Wow Mark your's truely is special. An STX XL with the 5.4, that definetly is a truck thats gonna be rare. I think probably half the STX models were XL but wasn't aware you could get the 5.4 in the XL version figured Ford was only thowing in the 4.2 in those.
Nice truck!

Yep, I gathered as much from the dealer when I went in with the list of what I wanted.
I sorta think that I got screwed on the deal, the dealer should have probably found me an XLT and gave me a discount or something. After I bought it, and talking to friends and other people who have been through the car buying process they always tell me how the dealer does a deal for them, such that they pay much less than the sticker price. But when I talked to him he didn't act like there was anything I could do other than custom order, didn't even give me the option of going with a different option thats more common and maybe giving me a deal.
But, I do like the fact that the XL should weigh less than the XLT, which means it should get a bit better gas mileage, and have more towing capacity.
Although stupid U-Haul for some reason uses the weight purely in determining what you can tow. So they let my friend's truck (03 crewcab, Lariat) rent a trailer to tow my car, but when I gave them my truck's info they said no, your truck isn't heavy enough. But that seems like such B.S. when the crewcab really has less towing capacity BECAUSE it weighs more!

Well Adam, if you order an 04 STX you cannot get the 5.4, if you order the Heritage edition with the 507a package you can get the 5.4 in the old style STX. That is what the dealer told me anyways.

BTW, I did get the XLT, on the 04's I don't think it is, no keyless entry, cruise and carpet are extra and the are not using the Sport seats in it, it is basicly a stripped out truck going by Fords Build your own pages.
And no True Blue either.

Red was my original Choice but only 3 in whole Southeast with this configuration when I went to buy according to my local dealer. I ended up driving to the other side of town to get this one, the other choice was a very ugly maroon!
Oh well it worked out since the wifes 02 Windstar is the same color its kinda neat seeing em parked next to one another.
I just hope my F150's having better luck scoring with the Windstar than I am scoring with the ol lady!

If you had gotten the True Blue Jim you might have had it sooner, they checked within 300 miles and found 4 with the V8 in it. 2 were really close to what I wanted, the only thing I didn't get was the powerseats.
I didn't get powerseats either.....for the money they wanted for these trucks that should have been standard!
I would rather have had the power seats then this crappy Kenwood Stereo!
Oh well, I still love her!
