Talking New sliding rear window for 2000

For 2000 there is a totally different sliding window module. My 99 is in the shop of a heart transplant (see engines 2000 replacement in 1999) and I told them that the window was leaking, they had it looked at by the glass repair shop and they said that Ford is replaceing all modules under warranty that are not repairable with the 2000 style. Which mine will be replaced. This new module has a stronger internal frame and new method of sealing, the glass is also sunk back into the module about 10mm more. Look at a new 2000 with a slider and you will see what I mean. The individual panes of glass also have metal frames around them. Take a look or tell your dealer that you want the new window, NO!! re-sealing. The only thing I need now to make my truck look like a 2000 is the matte black grille, but I think that I like the argent silver better.

Yeah, me too. I'll be checking the seal and edges after it rains, IF it ever rains – 83° in Phoenix today...will summer never end? I Yi Yi!

Well it rained the last 2 days and it looks like I will have to make a trip to the dealership to look at the window as I seen some water in the track on the inside and it was a little wet on the carpet along the back of the cab not good for a brand new truck that I only had 3 weeks.

Thumbs up

My full glass window got broken out of my '97 (ironically, it leaked), so I replaced it with a slider. It appears to be a 2000 model. So far it has rained twice in the last week with no leaks. We'll see how it hold up.

Well the service department at the dealership said they couldn't find a leak in the window and said that the water was from when I opened it up when it was still wet the night before.

I'm sure glad I didn't get a slider.
Plain ole solid window for me.

Me too, 54regcab. Twice. '98 and '00.

My second of the "new" F150s. Great trucks!

So far the slider in my 2000 has not leaked at all. I've been checking after every good rain just to make sure.

The slider on my 98 did not leak either...so I guess I've been lucky with this problem. (I did have the roof water channel cracks in the 98 though).

I am thinking about replacing my back window (mine is leaking around the seal) with a slider type window . I got a quote of $150.00 for the window and labor , that is the mobile service also. What do you think about this price ? Is it a decent price? Thanks in advance. Terry
