Question 2000 Sport Availability

I ordered a 2000 F-150 XLT Sport on July 12th. My order has a "schedule date" of October 4th. According to my salesman, that is when Ford schedules the production of the truck, but still doesn't give me any idea when it might arrive at the dealership. Does anyone have any more information? If it's of any help, mine is to be built at the Ontario Plant, and I already have a VIN #.
Thanks

Cool

I ordered my truck in Mar 99, it took about a month before they gave me a build date and VIN. The build date was May 20 99, and the truck showed at the dealer May 21 99. Must have got to it early or that's darn quick shipping. This is only one example though, and my truck is a fairly rare cobination (so rare they discontinued it for 2k). Hope your's is as close to build date as mine.

Thanks for the insight Jeff.I'm thinking then that the build date should be known soon after the October 4th schedule date. I'll call next week for updates, and hope it arrives as quickly as yours did. I've seen several 2000 models on the lots already, but the salesman here in Columbus, Ohio said that there is a "hold" on all orders with the Sport option. He said all Sports are getting different seats for 2000, and that might be what's holding them up. If anyone knows any more info on the new Sports, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks again,
Chris

Selva1....
I ordered my 2000 Sport in Atlanta on 9/2/99 and Ford came back with a build date of 10/4/99. However, when I checked last week (9/28/99)the dealer said it was already built and was waiting shipment. Delivery is scheduled sometime next week 10/11/99 - 10/15/99). By the way Selva1, the problem with your order may be because you can't order a 2000 Sport with captains chairs & the CD chager in the console. I tried and the dealers Ford computer wouldn't accept the order because the 2000 Sport has "unique" seat covers and a 60/40 split bench only so I got the in dash CD option. Look in the order option book; captain seats are option code "F" and the CD changer (installed in console) requires "F". Now look at the XLT Sport option code 94T and you'll see it is not available with option code "F", the captains seats......sorry. I think the total price I paid was $100 over invoice or $24,748 plus tax versus the MSRP of $28,170 plus tax.

Question

Interesting. I was in the dealership last Saturday (10/2), and my salesman told me that my truck has been scheduled and should arrive at the dealership the week of October 18th. There was no mention of a conflict in order codes.I have an updated computer printout from August 10th(although it's somewhat fuzzy) that shows all the order codes and descriptions I wanted, including: 94T- Sport group, T- Sport cloth captains chairs, T- Dark graphite XLT series, and 91P- 6 disk CD changer. The only thing that doesn't make sense to me now is the "T" code for the captain's chairs. I might just have to wait and see it when it rolls in.

Hey SPORT2000:
Check out the order codes on www.kbb.com . They have changed since the last time I was there. While you are right that the Sport option 94T comes standard with a unique dark graphite split bench seat (88S), there has appeared a new interior code. It is 88T. 88T is for unique captain's chairs, available only with the Sport group option. I remember my salesman telling me that the seats weren't available until after Oct. 4th. If yours was built before that date, it might be why you got shut out. If you still really want your original configuration, you better call your dealer quick! Good luck.

Selva1...
The seats aren't a big deal to me. Since my truck is supposedly built and on its way, I'll take the 60/40 split bench which I kinda like anyway. All the other options were a "have to have" especially 5.4L, limited slip, trailer tow, ext cab, sport option, flareside, etc. I'm sure I'll like it just fine.

Hey guys, do you know if they just build these in "runs"? Two different dealers are telling me that the 2000 Sport pkg won't be available until after 11/1.

That's always a possibility. Many people like myself were given the Oct. 4th scheduling date. Maybe after a certain number of orders, they stopped and set the Nov.1 date for the start of the next run. Mine is still being promised to me the week of Oct. 18th. Seems like forever.....
