How to clean the windshield...Intel??

I have had this glaze like substance on my windshield since the day I bought my truck. In the winter when it was below 32, it made the windshield ice up real quick. Now I am puttin on new wipers and want a clean windshield.

What is the best way to clean it (best cleaner, etc.)...I have used glass cleaner and it does not work).

Find a glass polish or a water spot remover. I have a water spot remover from ProWax.

This really removes road film quick !

I have lacquer thinner on hand all the time and I use a little bit on a damp cloth to remove the oily road film on my windshield. I also use a diluted mix of 80% alcohol and 20% lacquer thinner, in a little glass bottle, to clean my wiber blades. Cut a slit in a small, cheap sponge. Soak the sponge in the solution and run the slit up and down the wiper blade. A lot of really black stuff is removed from the wiper and it works like new for a while again.

Be careful to protect you truck finish with a big towel. Drips of
this stuff can work on your paint.

Lots of these expensive products on the market use similar cutting agents to soften and remove the road film. If you have some lacquer thinner on hand, it works just fine. But, I wouldn't put 100% lacquer thinneron the wiper blades. It softens the rubber and can damage them.

Talking window cleaner

I've had great luck with Eagle One 20/20 Auto Glass Cleaner. It took 2 applications but it removed the film from the windshield in both our car and our truck. It was almost like it required the first application to cut through the film and the second to remove it.

Cleaning your windows

Hello fellow F-150 owners and drivers, Some times I find that I have little bits of whatever stuck to the wind screen and it does not come off with any cleaner. I asked a Detail Shop what to do and they told me to use any brand of glass cleaner, I used a foamy kind. Spray it onto the window and with a safety razor, go over the window with little strokes, like removing a sticker off the window. The trick is to keep the razor wet with the window cleaner. Not hard to do, just keep giving little squarts as you move the razor over the window. Once that is done, give the window a good wipe as per usual. Hope that might help.
Tubbys.
