Calling on Shark99
My led's have been burning for nearly two years now. They are a 12V type, available at radio shack. They come with the black mounting part already done up.
I dont recall what the resistor was, we were blowing led's every month or so without them. We just told the guy at radioshack what we were doing, and what was happening and he handed us a package. They do dim the lights, but only a wee little bit.
I used the wire that lights up all the swithes on the armrest. There are a couple you can pick from. Find the pink wire with a blue stripe, it will be of a much smaller guage than the rest. Use a volt meter, and test it, also test it while moving your dimmer ****, if the voltage decreases, its the right one. I just grounded the led to the door.

If this link works, this is what they look like. Although I have the green ones, and they mounting hole was a touch over 1/4"
